Camilla Bellord Interiors Interview

Tell us about Camilla, her initial training and how your interior design company was subsequently set up

Camilla trained at the prestigious KLC School of Design in Chelsea, graduating with honours in 2002. The course provided an invaluable foundation to the world of interiors and her graduation portfolio led to Camilla being snapped up by Lifestyles Interiors, part of the exclusive Northacre Property Development Group. Camilla then went on to work with Fox Linton Associates in London, and most recently, seven years with Federica Palacios Design in Geneva.

Camilla was incredibly privileged to work at these renowned studios and work on a number of high-end residential and commercial projects. Projects have included show apartments at Kings Chelsea, a town house in Cadogan Square, the Grand Park Hotel and ski chalets in Gstaad, as well as a family house overlooking Lake Geneva. Each project is truly unique and individually tailored to specific project parameters and clients’ specific requirements including the surrounding landscape, existing architectural features, lifestyle and so on…

With over 15 years experience in the design industry, returning to live in the UK provided the catalyst to set up Camilla Bellord Interiors.

Can you give us a short description of your company and its aims

The interior design studio specialises in luxury residential projects both locally and internationally. It aims to create timeless interiors, which redefine spaces aesthetically but always with functionality in mind. The company prides itself on meticulous attention to detail and the utmost of discretion, leading to many clients coming back.

We see that you have recently launched an online shop, offering a unique collection of accessories, artwork and furniture

In addition to the design studio, an exclusive online shop was launched in 2017. The pieces are personally selected from the finest and most trusted artisans from all over the globe and offer a unique access to Camilla’s little black book of interior design. It continues to grow from strength to strength and is used by discerning private clients, as well as other design professionals.

There are some high-profile interior designers in London and the Home Counties – how do these influence/impact on your business?

London and the surrounding counties are a hub of interior design and it is an inspiration to work alongside others in this extraordinary industry. The recent Holiday House London exemplified this unique community as it came together to support The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and it was an enormous pleasure to loan some of our tribal shell sculptures to Laura Hammett Interiors for her Aegean inspired bedroom.

Where do you see Camilla Bellord Interiors in the future?

With business thriving for both the studio and online shop, Camilla’s husband, Tom, joined the team in 2017. With over 20 years of commercial and property experience behind him, he brings a wealth of invaluable knowledge to the company and ensures it continues to operate with exacting standards, whilst Camilla focuses on the design.
