With the Festive Season nearly upon us and our thoughts turning to lovely restaurants and venues to visit for Christmas lunches, parties etc, it seemed fitting for us to enjoy another evening out at Crocker’s Folly, nestled as it is in a residential area of St John’s Wood and standing proud on the corner of Aberdeen Place.

On this Saturday evening the bar was buzzing and the two restaurant rooms were quickly filling up. This unique London venue really does have it all with its charm, and its beautiful chandeliers lighting the ornate patterned ceilings and the intricate carved woodwork – highlighting the richness of its décor. I can just imagine what it would be like to celebrate Christmas in such an impressive setting.

The 1898 Bar and the two dining rooms were certainly alive with atmosphere, and the Lord’s Restaurant – named of course after the neighbouring famous cricket ground. We chose a glass of Prosecco whilst looking over the menu choices. The food is prepared by the amazing Head Chef Pierre Simonin and his team, the menu choices on offer include an à la carte menu, a lunch and Sunday lunch menu, and all of the Josper grill dishes from the à la carte menu are served with triple cooked chips and a choice of sauce. The Sunday lunch choices are fabulous and include: Roast Sirloin of British Beef, Roast Pork Loin, Classic Roasted Leg of Lamb, Free Range Roasted Chicken; wow all of my favourites on here – next time I will ensure a Sunday visit.

The lunchtime menu is extensive with choices of salads, to light bites and sharing platters plus a set menu of two courses for £18 or three courses for £25. This seems very good value for the fine standard of food that Pierre and his team create. I was also very impressed by the children’s menu with main dishes from £4-£6 and featuring homemade fish fingers – what more could a child ask for – served with mushy peas and tartar sauce, and let’s not forget the triple cooked chips. How could we forget these chips, I still remember them from my last visit here!

This impressive beautiful establishment also offers overnight accommodation, with three luxury upstairs apartments available to rent on a short-term let for both business and private functions. It is a fabulous venue for a wedding, ideal for the bridal party, and decorated and furnished to a very high standard. It is ideal for private functions, such as birthdays, as well as business meetings/seminars.

Crocker’s Folly can cater for your every need. Please contact Pierre and his dedicated team to discuss your requirements for that special occasion and to find out more about forthcoming Christmas events and promotions.
