Inspired by Her Majesty’s favourite foods and made using only the finest British ingredients, the St Ermin’s Hotel presents an exquisite new, royal afternoon tea service – in celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s 90thbirthday. From delicate finger sandwiches and freshly baked scones, to wonderfully creative sweet treats, the indulgent St Ermin’s Hotel RoyalTea and kids’ NineTea are beautifully presented with impeccable attention to detail.
Served in the opulent Tea Lounge, with its exquisite rococo plasterwork and charming décor, RoyalTea is a truly sparkling occasion. Starting with a simple yet elegant “Going Strong at 90” Chambord and Champagne cocktail, the inspired menu includes such delightful savoury bites as dressed Cornish lobster on mini toasted brioche and home cured “puddle-duck” ham with London piccalilli. Freshly baked scones, with clotted cream and homemade jams, are served alongside a delectable assortment of sweet treats, including The Golden Orb – Scottish shortbread with pistachio and lemon lime curd dome with a bejewelled glaze – and the Crowning Glory is an espresso choux bun with crust and decadent decors chocolat.
Little princes and princesses can enjoy a delicious NineTea, featuring some of Queen Elizabeth II’s favourite foods and beloved childhood treats. The creative selection of sweet and savoury delights includes chocolate biscuit cake (served at the Queen’s wedding), strawberries and cream cupcakes and one of Her Majesty’s treasured childhood treats – jam pennies… small jam sandwiches cut into circles the size of an (old) English penny!
