First ever Wool Fair comes to London this September
This September The Most Worshipful Company of Woolmen and the City Wool Alliance hold the first ever Wool Fair at Monument and London Bridge.
The Wool Fair will feature homewares, menswear, womenswear and more, and celebrates the very best in wool and wool-crafts from across the UK. Visitors can also expect a truly memorable urban street food experience with a select number of artisan food and drinks on offer all day, around London’s Famous Monument, which will also be open and offering one of the most unique Panoramic views across London for those climbing its 311 steps!
Traders taking part in this year’s Wool Fair on Sunday 25th September include bedding from The Wool Room, Southdown Duvets, and Penrose Alpaca, luxury knitwear from Ross Barr, hand-crafted knitted homewares and kidswear from Crowns and Coronets, tweed clothing from Settlers Stores, heritage project OneHutFull, natural wool products from Romney Marsh Wools, knitwear accessories from Chelache, family run homewares business Chapman House, hand-made dichroic glass designs by Blissimore Designs and the people behind North Down Farm.
This is the first year for this exciting new event, and is accompanied by the traditional London Bridge Sheep Drive, staged by the Worshipful Company of Woolmen, where participants will drive their sheep across London Bridge in aid of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal and the Woolmen’s Charitable Trust.
Former Formula One World Champion Nigel Mansell CBE will exchange his F1 car for a flock of sheep for his next drive as he leads the woolly beasts across London Bridge to promote the wool industry and interest in wool, wool products and sheep farming.
